‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’, ‘Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer’, ‘Jerusalem’, ‘Morning Has Broken’, ‘Shine, Jesus, Shine’, ‘Love Divine, All Loves Excelling’. What are your favourite hymns and why?
There’s a chance to hear your favourite hymn when ‘Shorne Sings Praise’ on Saturday 25th May at 3pm at St. Peter and St. Paul, Shorne at 3pm – an informal get together to sing some favourite hymns, accompanied by Rita Silvester, playing the church’s beautiful pipe organ.
Hymn suggestions are invited. All you have to do is name the hymn you would like to be chosen, together with a brief explanation as to why you have chosen it. Then send this together with your name and a contact telephone number to Rosemary Moore at firstname.lastname@example.org . Closing date for suggestions is Friday 17 May.
Up to six hymns will be chosen to sing on the day, decided by ballot. If you’re not successful this time then hopefully there will be other opportunities in the future!
Admission to ‘Shorne Sings Praise’ is free. The singing will be followed by an Afternoon Tea for which donations are welcome. Any proceeds from this will go towards Shorne Church’s Roof and Tower Appeal.
St. Peter and St. Paul, Shorne is located off Butcher’s Hill, Shorne (DA12 3EB). For further information please contact Rosemary Moore on 01474 824177 or at email@example.com .
