The Harvest Festival activities took place on Sunday the 6th October. The service in the morning included traditional harvest hymns and for the first time the lively “Blessed be the name of the Lord”. The congregation presented harvest gifts and were reminded of the plight of others by at talk from our Vicar, Glyn, on Chistian Aid; the gifts will be given to the foodbank in Gravesend. The church was beautifully decorated with flowers and produce by Hilary Moore and her team as you can see in the photographs below.
The service was followed by our traditional “world” conker championship organised by Mark Bottomley. After a hard fight against the children the competition was won by an adult for the first time – David Cornish from Australia. After that we all sat down for a hearty lunch of casseroles and puddings prepared by Philippa and her helpers.
