Although services can be held in churches under tier 4, the PCC has reluctantly decided that, because of the danger of infection from an even more virulent virus, none will be held until further notice. Instead we will continue holding services over Zoom. If you would like to attend these services but do not already receive email invitations, please contact Dennis Usher at

An announcement about other services will be made as soon as possible.

The church is facing a major problem because the central heating is not working and the church will be very cold. Repairs are likely to take some time, and be very expensive, as the pumps on the boilers need replacing and there are leaks in the pipes where they are buried under the floors. We are currently getting expert advice, finding a solution and obtaining the permissions we need to do the work. We hope much of it can be done by volunteers and if you think you may have suitable skills, please contact Dennis Usher at the address above.

Temporary heating has been hired but we do not yet know how effective it will be. Many parishioners may be reluctant to attend services in a cold church and also risk infection. Some may prefer to join the services on Zoom which are attracting a good attendance.

We also having to run the church in the absence of the Vicar who is convalescing following contracting covid-19. Unfortunately we have been unable to obtain the services of other clergy so are unable to hold Holy Communion services.
